Protect the ocean so it can protect us<\/h2>\n

The future of our planet is actually closely linked to the ocean. After all, it is not only home to magnificent and abundant life, it is also a powerful climate solution. Our seas and oceans not only absorb about 25 percent of man-made carbon emissions and provide at least half of the oxygen we are breathing, but also generate renewable energy that has the potential to end our dependence on fossil fuels. Additionally, coasts provide precious environments for animals and humans. Around the world, coastal communities account for more than one-third of the world’s population, and these are the people who will bear the brunt of rising sea levels and degraded marine habitats.<\/p>\n
