HHV Portraits show members of our community dressed and styled by themselves to show their true character. From leather footwear to sneakers and slip-ons, hoodies to mohair and parkas, our community is dressed to impress. Working in fashion, finance or freelancing, we will highlight different individuals monthly and share the versatility our community has through their thoughts and feelings about where they are, what they are wearing, and much more\u2026<\/p>\n

Who are you, where are you from, what do you do \u2013 and what do you do when you\u2019re not doing that?<\/h4>\n

My name is Nissa Carrington, I was raised in a very small town called Grafenw\u00f6hr and just moved to Berlin last summer after stops in Paris, W\u00fcrzburg & Hamburg.
\nI am a DJ and freelance Art Director.<\/p>\n

Making your passion(s) your job is always a bit tricky because I feel like I have no hobbies left. But if I\u2018m not on the road, on the computer or digging for music, you\u2019ll probably find me either looking for interior inspo on Pinterest, hanging with friends or on the couch binging The Real Housewives.<\/p>\n

What inspires you to be yourself and dress the way you do? Are there people, music, or places that influence you?<\/h4>\n

I think one the one hand I am deeply influenced by African American culture & music itself, I find a lot of power & courage in that part of my identity. I also love wearing vintage finds from my mom\u2019s closet, who spent some time in California in the early 80s, I have a few sick t-shirts from that time that I wear all the time.<\/p>\n

I think the chicest people on earth are Paloma Elsesser and Solange Knowles. A designer I love is Martine Rose. Stylists whose work I admire are Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, Julio Cesar Delgado, Leah Abbott, Theresa Gross, Carlos Nazario,.. so many.<\/p>\n
