A Visit to Schindelhauer Bikes<\/h2>\n

For many years we have been fans of Schindelhauer Bikes<\/a>, the Berlin bicycle manufacturer in our neighbouring district of Kreuzberg. An owner-managed company, founded and run with passion, from Berlin to the whole world. Always on the hunt for the best possible product, that kind of product you would recommend to a good friend with best conscience. Understatement instead of showing off. Sounds familiar? Ok, this one was way too obvious.<\/p>\n

But the parallels are simply undeniable and we really like the approach and work ethic of the good folks of Schindelhauer \u2013 and we suspect they like us, too. So we decided to get together for a very fine collaboration: The HHV x Schindelhauer \u00bbJacob\u00ab Bike<\/a> \u2013 a special edition of the elegant, all black singlespeeder in a puristic ninja look, with reflective details that only become visible at night. We have already told you about it here<\/a> in our Journal.<\/p>\n

Since 2009, Schindelhauer has been developing bikes that are both technically sophisticated and uncomplicated. They are all about innovation, beautiful design and practicality. Schindelhauer bikes have a minimalist look and are designed for everyday use. Longevity and enjoyment of cycling are top priorities: From the low-maintenance Gates carbon belt drive to the frame made of high-quality aluminium and the high-end components made of stainless steel. The founding team of 4 friends who met during their studies consists of designers and engineers, who turn out to be just the right group of people for this. Day after day they work meticulously on their products with a lot of passion and perfectionism.<\/p>\n

Together with our bike & lifestyle specialist Henrik K\u00fcrschner a.k.a. Henne a.k.a. Artoo<\/a> we had the pleasure to visit the Schindelhauer team in its habitat in Berlin-Kreuzberg. We also got to be there when the very first HHV x Schindelhauer \u00bbJacob\u00ab bike was assembled and finished. And of course we had a look around and talked to Stephan Zehren, one of the co-founders of Schindelhauer Bikes, about the company\u2019s history, its philosophy and the collaboration with HHV.
