Portuguese Flannel – Knowledge in a New World<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The story of Portuguese Flannel features everything the fashion nerd’s heart desires. Family traditions, a success story, craftsmanship, perfection, exquisite fabrics, the proof that fortune favors the bold and Portugal. Indeed, Portugal is without a doubt synonymous with high-quality textile production in Europe. When it comes to weaving techniques and fancy fabrics, nobody can fool the Portugu\u00eas.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Manuel and Ant\u00f3nio Magalh\u00e3es, the brothers behind the brand, are following the quite big footsteps of their great-grandfather, a man whose name sounds like you could easily drop it while having smalltalk about – what else – comparing famous Portuguese explorers such as Vasco da Gama or Ferdinand Magellan: Jo\u00e3o Pereira de Magalh\u00e3es.<\/p>\n

Said man is the reason for the incredibly good shirts (more on that later) of Portuguese Flannel, because he founded a textile factory in Northern Portugal more than 80 years ago, which changed the family DNA forever. Since day one it was all about the – you guessed it – Portuguese flannel, an exclusive fabric with the highest quality due to traditional craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

Fast forward to the present, three generations later,\u00a0 Manuel und Ant\u00f3nio Magalh\u00e3es are going back to the family roots, on a mission to create and produce the very best flannel shirts (again, we’ll get to that later). Having access to an archive of exquisite flannel fabrics dating back to the 1930ies and sticking to old school traditional techniques in addition to the family’s knowledge and experiences are pretty much the ingredients for perfection. And now we’ll get to the shirts.<\/p>\n

So what makes these shirts so special? You heard it before – perfection.<\/p>\n

Literally, those of you who ever laid hands on one, owned one, wore one are silently nodding in agreement. Ok, maybe we have watched the glorious video about Portuguese Flannel’s history one too many times. Maybe we’re a bit biased. And ok, at the end of the day these are just shirts.<\/p>\n
