Carhartt WIP presents
RELEVANT PARTIES
Exit Records
It’s time for a new episode of Carhartt WIP‘s RELEVANT PARTIES podcast series, the podcast about some of the world’s most influential independent record labels. This time we get to meet DJ and producer Darren White aka dBridge, founder of Exit Records, a label that has shaped UK club culture like few others. Mixing and experimenting within genres like drum and bass, jungle, autonomic, footwork, juke, hip-hop and soul, Exit Records has been developing new sounds since 2003.
The label’s artist repertoire includes acts such as Goldie’s Rufige Kru project, British multi-instrumentalist Steve Spacek, Northern Irish producer Calibre, and production duo Instra:mental, as well as contemporary drum and bass producers like Dolenz, Fixate, Workforce, and dBridge himself.
dBridge tells RELEVANT PARTIES host Chal Ravens how his personal backstory intertwines with his creative work and his label, how he went back to the roots to analogue machines after mastering digital technology for years and what it means to stay »true to the craft«.
