Carhartt WIP presents
RELEVANT PARTIES
Ed Banger Records
A brand new episode of Carhartt WIP‘s RELEVANT PARTIES is out – This time featuring a conversation with Parisian record producer, DJ and former artist manager Pedro Winter a.k.a. Busy P.
Host Chal Ravens picks Pedro Winter’s brain about his record label Ed Banger, founded in 2003 and since then delivering a variety of genres and sounds ranging from pop, electronic to hip hop, disco and rock. The Paris-based label’s top artists include the likes of Mr.Oizo, SebastiAn, Feadz, Uffie and Justice, most prominent representatives of the »Maximal-Electro« sound, which became the trademark of Ed Banger Records in the 2000s and had a significant impact on dance floors and pop culture worldwide.
We get to dig deep with Pedro Winter and hear stories about his teenage years spent on a skateboard on the streets of Paris, how he became Daft Punk’s manager (including his own perspective on the band’s recent split). He also talks about the late DJ Mehdi, whose creative impact and influence as A&R played a big role in establishing Ed Banger’s success.
