Photography is the visual medium of fashion, music & lifestyle. For us here it is the bread and butter of our daily work, just like everywhere else in the world of fashion and culture. Of course it is related to everything we do and share with you. How else would we tell our stories, if not via photos on all our channels.

But many of us here are especially fascinated by the kind of photography that exists beyond commerce and glossy images. In times of selfies, quick snapshots on cellphones, hyper filters, over-stylized and extremely retouched photos flooding our eyes, film photography is a bit like street art within the art world. It is less elitist, it lets us take a breather, pause for a moment and reflect. It is not styled and optimized ad nauseam, on the contrary, sometimes its imperfection conveys much more emotion than a picture that checks all the boxes of photography theory. Some photographers shoot spontaneously, while others take their time and wait for the best light or the right moment. But both never play it safe, no backup, no 100 shots for a hit. Just point and shoot. The result remains a mystery until the film is developed – more precisely until the glorious moment when the download link to the scans comes up (s/o Foto Kotti and Safelight Berlin).

Click Clique is a camera collective created by HHV as a platform where we want to share our love for film photography with you. The collective is an open community for creative exchange, welcoming everyone who shares this fascination with us.

Tom Doolie

Tom Doolie is a musician, producer and photographer. Musically, his space is within the world of Hip Hop Instrumentals, he has also worked with all relevant labels of the Lo-Fi beat scene and recently joined the label Plygrnd as Creative A&R. When it comes to his photography, he almost exclusively shots on film and as a multidisciplinary artist he brings photography and music together in a way that makes his entire oeuvre a total work of art. This may have come about by chance, but it is clearly the result of his quest for ultimate harmony in and between both art forms. Tom has long been connected to HHV through his love of music. He bought his first vinyl from us many, many years ago and has been linked to our world ever since. We, in turn, have been following and admiring his work for quite some time now, so it was obvious to us that he is the perfect partner for the first round of our Click Clique collab series.

Dubbed “SMWHERE, SMTIME”, Tom has selected a series of three photographs for us, which are exclusively available at HHV as print T-shirts, framed photo prints individually as well as a box set. You can check out all colab pieces here: HHV Click Clique x Tom Doolie
