Visiting the studio of Dr. Sud

Together with Carhartt WIP we want to dive deep into an instrument that has shaped all genres of music and had a significant impact on the development of electronic music as well as hip-hop. We are of course referring to the synthesizer, the instrument used in nearly every genre of music and considered one of the most important instruments in the music industry.

To do this, we visited the berlin-based producer and DJ Gregorio Marigliano aka. Dr. Sud in his studio in the Funkhaus. Originating from Rome, the artist moved to Berlin at the early age of 11 and is now producing highly percussive music that combines jazz harmonies with influences from a wide variety of genres. Using the synthesizer, Dr. Sud is merging elements of electronica, funk and house, revealing a unique and genre-bending soundworld to the listener.
