Novesta x HHV GAT
A Story Worn By Our Community
The German Army Trainer is a silhouette that has quietly shaped sneaker culture for decades. Originally developed for military training and later produced by the historic factory that would become Novesta, the GAT has evolved from functional sportswear into one of the most enduring and sought-after designs in footwear. Defined by its clean lines, understated detailing and timeless versatility, it remains as relevant today as when it first appeared.

To celebrate the launch of the Novesta x HHV GAT, we turned our attention away from traditional campaign models and towards the people who make our community what it is. Bringing together four members of the extended HHV family, the project explores how a piece of sneaker history naturally fits into everyday life.

Photographed across Berlin, Lilly, Hannes, Julia and Christian each bring their own perspective, style and story to the campaign. Rather than presenting the shoe in a controlled studio environment, the imagery captures authentic moments and familiar surroundings, reflecting the way the GAT has always existed: quietly, confidently and without the need for excess.

The HHV edition stays faithful to the original blueprint. Light leather panels are paired with subtle suede overlays, while the signature honey-coloured rubber sole remains untouched. Every detail speaks to the restraint and functionality that made the silhouette iconic in the first place.
By placing the Novesta x HHV GAT in the hands of our community, the project highlights what has always made the shoe special. Its appeal lies not in trends or performance claims, but in its ability to become part of everyday routines, worn and interpreted differently by every individual who laces it up.

From its military origins to the streets of Berlin, the Novesta x HHV GAT continues a story decades in the making. A quiet piece of sneaker history, brought into the everyday through the people who wear it.
