KAVU’s namesake, which is a play on the aviation acronym »clear above visibility unlimited«, speaks of the days we all hold dear. KAVU’s mission is to invigorate the soul and senses with outdoor play and translate that spirit into everyday life. Think magic carpet rides in wing suits, white water rafting, extreme adventuring, day-tripping and sunshine smiles.
Barry Barr’s infamous Strapcap got the KAVU ball rolling in Seattle back in 1993. Yes, Seattle in the 90s was not all about grunge. Rugged, durable and with webbing for miles, the Strapcap is built to stay put no matter the conditions. So, when the fun rolls or rough conditions kick in, you won’t lose your hat even if you lose your nerve or inhibitions.
Aside from the pleasure tip, KAVU is motivated to help keep its outdoor playground pristine. Made in the USA with worldwide materials, KAVU is working towards more sustainable practices. 95% of KAVU buckles are Bluesign certified. It continues to clean up its supply chain and works in accordance with sustainability guidelines set by Oeko Tex, GOTS and REACH. In addition, KAVU uses renewable bio-based fibres such as Tencel Lyocell and Modal fibers in its collections. KAVU is striving to keep it positive and breezy.
